This Scandi style apartment was commissioned by a young couple who wanted to re-imagine a tired mid-century flat as a light, easy-going home.
Total size of the apartment is 1,400 sq ft (130 m sq) with 2 bedroom, 2 balconies and beautiful large windows throughout. Details, seeming simplicity and comfort are the main components here.
Maya opened up the layout to create a fluid sequence of spaces where Scandinavian calm and French elegance sit comfortably together, reflecting the owners’ love of hosting, culture and quiet everyday rituals.
To keep the apartment feeling airy and cohesive, Maya worked with a restrained material palette: white walls, warm oak parquet and moments of exposed brick, softened with chalky finishes. In the hallway and bathrooms, patterned tiles and terrazzo introduce a subtle playfulness, while the bedroom’s soft green shade picks up the trees outside.
This project was featured in Yatzer magazine.
Vintage finds, contemporary pieces and bespoke joinery add a mid-century note without tipping into nostalgia, reinforcing Maya’s focus on authenticity and longevity rather than trend.
